Just when we thought that the craze and obsession around the mobile game PUBG was over, another bizarre story has come to light. Most children who have gotten addicted to the mobile game have done some questionable things like stealing money. Some of them have gone as far as harming or killing their parents in the process. Gaming addiction is a very real thing and it is putting people in harm's way.
The latest addition to the list of 'absurd things PUBG has made people do' is a 12-year-old boy stealing a total of Rs 3 lakhs from his parents. According to News18, the boy hails from Gujarat's Kutch district and has confessed to stealing the amount from his parents.
His parents, who are grocery-store owners, had noticed that cash was missing from their cupboard. Reportedly, in order to make sure, they kept an eye and eventually caught their son red-handed. When questioned by his parents, the boy confessed that the reason he was stealing the money was because he had lost several games while playing with his friends.?
The report also added that the distressed parents reached out to the police to determine further action, and their son also confessed to giving the money to his friends so that they could buy better phones to play the game.?
A complaint has been lodged and the police is carrying out an investigation into the matter with extra care, since the accused involved are all minors.
