The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 was stunningly unveiled at the EICMA 2022 motor show in Milan, Italy, on November 8.?
The Super Meteor 650 is offered in two distinct variants: the standard and the tourer.?While the former comes in five colors: Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Grey, and Interstellar Green. The latter gets two paint schemes: Celestial Red and Celestial Blue.?
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is archetypal of a cruiser and boasts a low-profile stance with a long wheelbase of 1,500mm.?The design is similar to the smaller Meteor 350, but it looks more premium and striking.
The motorcycle will be the brand¡¯s flagship cruiser, powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine that we have seen in the?Interceptor 650?and Continental GT 650.?This engine develops 47 BHP and 52 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.
While the output figures are the same, the torque arrives at 500 rpm later in the rev range when compared to the 650 twins.
Even though the engine is mostly the same, the Super Meteor gets a new chassis. The Super?Meteor 650 gets a steel tubular spine frame that is suspended by 43mm upside down telescopic forks in the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.
The Super Meteor 650 has a very low seat height of 740mm, as well as forward set footpegs that are mounted near the front of the engine. While the low seat will make this bike easy for shorter riders, it is still a heavy machine at 241 kg. That also makes it the heaviest of all the Enfields currently on sale.?
Another thing to keep in mind, especially considering road conditions in India, is the low 135 mm of ground clearance on offer.
As mentioned earlier, the Super Meteor 650 will be available in two variants: standard and tourer.
The bike will be unveiled in India at?Royal Enfield¡¯s Rider Mania event later this month, and at the moment, there is no word on what the prices will be. But the brand's new flagship cruiser is expected to be priced above the current 650s, somewhere between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
