Sonu Sood is India¡¯s new favorite person. He has emerged as a much-needed helping hand for many, when he arranged for thousands of stranded migrants to be taken to their homes. He has been answering every possible call for help, and has also inspired other people from the industry - like Swara Bhaskar -?to do the same.?
As citizens who have been worst hit by the coronavirus lockdown, members of these migrant workers' families have been expressing their gratitude towards Sonu Sood - one woman did so by naming her new born after him.??
Replying to one of the videos shared by him, a person named Arvind Pandey shared an image of Sonu Sood¡¯s train pass from 22 years ago. The caption read, ¡®A person who has struggled in reality can empathise with the pain of others. At one time Sonu Sood used to travel in train with the Rs 420 travel pass¡¯.?
The pass accompanied with Sood's then picture shows the date of issue ito July 8, 1997 and the ticket to be dated March 6, 1998. The pass was apparently between Borivali and Churchgate in Mumbai. At the time, he was 24.?
The tweet was reshared by Sonu Sood himself with the caption, ¡®Life is a full circle¡¯.?
He recently set up a migrant helpline toll-free number, which redirected people to a WhatsApp number where they could send their information - where they wanted to travel - and retweeted a video shared by KK Mookhey, with whom he has been working to arrange this. The video shows the number to be bombarded with messages from stranded migrants and the image of his 22-year-old train pass was tweeted in response to the video.?
People like Sonu Sood are actually making a difference on ground - it is people like him that history will remember fondly, to have used their money and power to help those in need.?
