A food delivery agent claimed that he was fired from Swiggy after he refused to deliver non-vegetarian food near Delhi's Marghat Baba Hanuman Mandir premises.?Sachin Panchal, who declined to deliver mutton korma to a customer near Delhi's Marghat Baba Hanuman Temple, spoke to India Today/Aaj Tak after the video of the incident went viral last week.
Ram Kachori, Yamuna Bazar, and Hanuman Mandir were mentioned as the location and delivery destination.?
Since the recipient's location was inside the Marghat Hanuman mandir temple grounds at Kashmere Gate, Old Delhi, Sachin Panchal refused to deliver the mutton korma that had been ordered.?
In an interview with India Today, Panchal said: "Naukri aaj nahi toh kal mil jayegi. Apna dharam bhi toh zaroori hai. Apne parivar ko chalane ke liye mein apne sanatas dharam ke bhaaiyon ko thes thodi nahi pahuchaunga."??(I will get the job tomorrow, if not today. But religion is also important. Just because I want to earn for my family, I cannot disappoint my brothers who follow Sanatan dharma)?
He said that he was afraid to spend too much time in the temple's vicinity since it was deserted. However, he never deviated from his principle of carrying meat inside the temple.?
He told Swiggy's customer service line that he wouldn't deliver the order since it's where Hanuman's daily offerings, sweets, and Kachori to god Hanuman are prepared.
Anubhav, the customer service agent, remarked that food must be provided to the doorstep regardless of whether or not he's doing anything wrong.?
On Tuesday, the Marghat Hanuman mandir temple board gave Sachin Panchal an award for "protecting" the religious integrity of the holy shrine.
The delivery app showed heavy CRPF and Delhi police presence at Ram Kachori near the old Hanuman shrine. Residents and Hindu groups downed the shop's shutters a few days after the viral video.
However, according to a Business Today report, Swiggy claims he's still with the company.?
