Everyone has watched at least one TV show or movie where US Marshals barge into a place to arrest someone. However, this entire situation can go horribly wrong if the authorities hold the wrong person at gunpoint.?
A similar incident took place in Florida recently where a mother and her baby were held at gunpoint by US Marshals who mistakenly broke into her home. Now, that is a shock no one wants.
The entire harrowing ordeal was captured on Kada Staples' doorbell camera.
According to reports, the 22-year-old mother said the raid took place on October 22 when she was taking a quick nap at her Bradenton apartment with her 3-month-old baby.?
Armed US officers arrived at her doorstep and ordered her to come out. In the doorbell footage, which has now been shared online, one of the officers is heard saying ¡®US Marshals. Come to the door'.
Taken aback by their presence,?Staples put her dog away in a cage and went to unlock the door. However, the armed Marshalls barged past her into the apartment.
The doorbell cam footage shows the two agents drawing guns on Staples who was holding her baby.
Staples told a news channel the agents pushed her out of the way. She said there were 7-8 men with guns.?
"They pushed me out of the way and they¡¯re holding me and my baby at gunpoint. And I¡¯m freaking out because there¡¯s seven or eight of them with guns and they¡¯re screaming at me that they know he¡¯s in there," Staples told WFLA.?
The footage also shows Staples crying outside her apartment before the agents realised that they had made a huge mistake.?
"And then all run out, and they¡¯re like, ¡®that¡¯s the wrong apartment, wrong apartment,¡¯" she said.?
She also said that the agents returned an hour later and explained to her that a 'Black male-run upstairs' and thought he was making his way to her apartment.
According to reports, the agents were looking for one Shamar Johnson, who is wanted on a homicide warrant following a murder in September.??
