People do not seem to understand the simple language of rules and regulations, especially traffic rules. Hence, traffic police in various parts of the country is coming up with innovative ways to make people adhere to those rules. The Chandigarh Traffic Police is the latest to join the trend of coming up with innovative ideas.?
A video of a traffic police officer singing a modified version of the classic Punjabi song by Daler Mehndi, ¡®Bolo Tararara¡¯ is going viral.
The lyrics of the song have been tweaked to suit the message the traffic policeman wants to convey. The song warns people about the repercussions of parking at the wrong place.
Part of the lyrics go like ¡°Traffic police teri car chukk lai gai, traffic police teri car chukk lai gai, chori hogi, chori ho gayi sochti reh gayi, bolo tara rara. Gaddi nu crane lai gai, bolo tara rara."?
Basically, it means that it was the traffic police that might have towed your car for parking in the ¡®no parking¡¯ zone and you might think it has been stolen.
It's really funny and drives home the message at the same time. The legendary singer himself, Daler Mehndi, shared the video with the caption, ¡®I am glad that my music is used by Traffic police to inspire people to follow rules¡¯.
Well, hope this indeed helps the police exercise?some control in the city.?
