In recent days, some railway customers have taken to social media to document the poor state of trains, which have been hampered by overcrowding and ticketless individuals hogging seats. A video of a foreigner displaying the conditions of a toilet aboard an Indian train has gone viral on social media. Irina Moreno, a digital designer, published the footage on Instagram.?
It demonstrates the state of the train toilet and the lack of basic cleanliness. According to the train number in the post's caption, the foreigner was aboard the Udaipur City - Jaipur Intercity Express when she recorded the video.??
Moreno shared the video and wrote, "Western toilet on train in India, 2nd class. Train 12991."
Moreno shared the video a few days ago. Since then, it has received over 52,000 likes and 5.8 million views. The post also elicited multiple responses.
Following the video, a user commented and schooled the woman about Indian railways. He wrote, "This is a second-class ticket that costs barely 100-120 INR, which is approximately 2 USD, for a journey from Udaipur to Jaipur! You wouldn't even get a pizza topping for that price. Even the Indian middle class avoids travelling in this class. Increase your budget and travel safely in a neat and clean environment! This does not reflect a typical train washroom in India."?
In a separate post, Moreno published another washroom video from a first-class Indian train. "Continuing on from my prior post. Western bathroom aboard a train in India, first class. "Train 12413," she said in the caption to the image. The video received more than 1,500 likes and over 195,000 views.
