Standing in a queue is a basic social etiquette one is expected to follow in a public place. This ensures that there is no unnecessary overcrowding and that those who came first are served first. Unfortunately, in India, this is seldom practiced, and everyone is in a rush to get their thing done first, no matter how many people were there before them for the same thing.
This can sometimes lead to ugly confrontations between those standing in the queue and those who have no regard for basic social etiquette. A social media user has narrated an incident where she confronted a man who was trying to get ahead of her while she was at a local eatery in Bengaluru.

"At the counter, he cut in front of me in the line, and not wanting to make a scene, I simply turned to him and said, 'There¡¯s a line here,'" the social media user said.
This did not go down well with the man, who responded by saying, "There¡¯s no sign saying to make a line, you can stand in a line if you want to."
Not wanting to escalate matters further, the woman decided to let it go.
"It really takes nothing to just follow basic social etiquette in public and have a default polite attitude towards strangers. I also knew he spoke to me that way because he saw I was a young girl and felt there would be no consequences for his behavior. So, I decided to confront him," she wrote.
She met him again when he came to wash his hands.
"But despite my restraint, he made it a public scene. At one point, he was shouting at me, asking me how dare I look at him and speak to him. His family (with four other women) asked me why I irritated him and why I was making a scene," the woman stated.

As the argument escalated and others at the cafe started getting involved, the woman said she decided to leave the place.
She ended the social media thread by saying that the next time she was at the same cafe, there was a board that read "Q Please."
