Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, captured the attention of the internet by publishing a post about the difficulty level of entrance tests in the country, including the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the Union Public Service Commission Civil Service Exam (UPSC CSE).?
The 12th Fail Bollywood film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, encouraged him to learn more about the exam's difficulties and preparation methods. Mahindra re-shared the list of the world's "top toughest exams" on his X page, with the UPSC exam ranked third, following IIT JEE in second place.
While diving into the difficulty level, the chairman met an IIT graduate who had also done the UPSC exams and informed him that the latter was more tough. The chairman went on to say that if this is the case, the world ranking should be revised.
Mahindra re-shared last year's X article by The World Ranking, writing, "After seeing 12th Fail, I searched around and chatted with a number of young people about the relative difficulty of our entrance tests. One of them was an IIT graduate who was working on a business initiative but had also taken the UPSC examination. He claimed unequivocally that UPSC is far more difficult than the IIT JEE. I wonder if this is a general perspective, in which case this ranking should be changed!"?
