?Sonu Nayak,?the nurse in question, is apparently quite the 'star' on TikTok and has a million followers.?
Nayak was arrested after she uploaded a TikTok video which had been filmed at the Isanpur bridge during the lockdown. The video had been made at around 9 pm on Monday.?
Nayak was released on bail soon after she was arrested. The police sprung into action after the video uploaded by Nayak went viral on social media. The TikTok user had been arrested for violating the lockdown.?
The cops reverse tracked Nayak and were able to locate her on Wednesday.
Sonu Nayak also works as a nurse at a private hospital. According to JM Solanki, inspector of the Isanpur police station, Nayak went to the Isanpur bridge on Monday night and allegedly filmed a video.?
"This is our Isanpur village. Modiji open the lockdown (then laughs)," the woman says in the video that got her into trouble.?
Back in April,? Mumbai Police, coming down heavily on TikTok users who are trying to make videos by violating social distancing norms or mocking the police.?
According to a Hindustan Times report, the?the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) police arrested five youth ¨C Avinash Varma, Jalis Siddiqui, Salman Shaikh, Sajid Shaikh and Nafiz Ansari ¨C for making TikTok videos violating the lockdown.?
During the investigation, the cops found that the youth made over 40 videos on the empty streets amid lockdown.?
The popular video-sharing app has been embroiled in controversy for the past few days, the app rating slid to 1-star reviews on Apple App Store and Google Play Store after it found itself up against the followers of YouTuber CarryMinati.?
Another video that came into focus was that of a popular TikTok creator Faizal Siddiqui who has been accused of glorifying acid attacks on women.?
National Commission of Women in India chairperson Rekha Sharma has called for a ban of the app in the country saying Ą°It not only has these objectionable videos but also pushing youngsters towards unproductive life where they are living only for few followers and even death when the numbers decline,Ąą reports The Indian Express.?
After the incident, a TikTok spokesperson clarified, "our terms of service and community guidelines clearly outline what is and what is not acceptable on our platform,"? and that they expect users to adhere to these policies at all times.
