A student is definitely excited to head to college to start a new journey of experience in their life. But, when it comes to learning, we're sure making cow dung?cakes is not something a student might have thought of.?
The prestigious?Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi recently organised a workshop for students where they have to make 'upala' (cow dung cakes). The dean of the social science faculty Prof Kaushal Kishore Mishra taught students how to make these cow dungs.
A video of the same has gone viral where Professor Mishra is imparting his knowledge and showing students how to make these cow dung cakes. The professor is surrounded by the students who are also making and learning how to make these cow dung. He also added that the students would be visiting the villages and training the people there in making cow dung cakes.
As per the official BHU Twitter handle, the workshop was held at the Integrated Village Development Centre of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.?
This video of people making cow dung got viral and several people made hilarious jokes and memes on it. A lot of people commented that village people are already aware of how to make these cow dung cakes while others commented that Universities should be places for higher learning and not to learn how to make cow dung cakes.
According to Professor Mishra, the purpose of making these cow dung is to impart knowledge to students as to how they are made. According to him, the?cakes could be used for performing 'havan' (a ritual by fire), puja and also as a fuel for preparing food. He also urged the central government to make arrangements for selling products that could be prepared from cow dung.
"It will help in increasing the income of the farmers," he said.?
Cow dung has been a primary focus for many people in the country. Last year, a doctor from Haryana identified as Dr Manoj Mittal, from Karnal got viral after he stood in the cow shelter?to talk about the benefits of cow dung and urine. Not only does he praise the cow dung but also picks up a little chunk of it from the shelter and starts eating it.?
He went ahead and claimed that eating cow dung purifies our body, mind and soul. He further said that women should eat cow dung for normal delivery and if they eat it, they will never have to go for a cesarean.
