A bizarre case has come to light on Reddit recently and people are more than stunned. A user shared his appalling interaction with his boss on the platform and posted a screenshot of his chat with the boss. The contents of the chat are now making people upset.
A growing disdain for toxic work culture arose in people after reading about a man¡¯s plight at his job where he had been working for the last few years. In the chat, it was clear that the boss had already started the conversation on the wrong foot.
The boss demanded the man to come to work on his day off. When the man refused and asked him to contact another employee, the boss told him that he was single while ¡°Brian¡± is married and had kids which implied that the OP had to have been available on his day off.
The conversation was already chaos when the employee thought to stand up for himself and told his superior that he would not come on such short notice on his day off and informed that he did actually have plans to attend to.?
At this point, the boss would have logically bit his tongue and taken a step back but certainly not in this bizarre situation. To get the facts right; the boss contacted his employee at 10 in the night and demanded him to come to the office the next day by 6 in the morning on his day off. These details are enough to make any working individual¡¯s blood boil but, wait for it, things did not end here.
When the employee offered to take a later shift, the boss denied it. The superior continued to push his employee and asked him to cancel his plans of helping his friend move houses or tell his friend to wait until work is done. The request enraged the employee who then proceeded to ask for some respect from his boss.
So this just happened and I¡¯m almost numb atm. I hope I don¡¯t regret this tomorrow as I do enjoy my job, but management is rough

Instead of finding a solution to the staff shortage, the boss further threatened the employee to ¡°choose your next words very carefully, I know you¡¯re strapped for money this month.¡± This was the last straw that ultimately forced the employee to declare his two weeks' notice then and there on the text chain.
The toxic work culture resonated with many people who had survived a toxic boss. Many came forward in support of the employee and shared their own anecdotes.
