A hair-raising video of a car driver in China's southwestern Sichuan province narrowly escaping a horrific landslide has surfaced online.?
The incident took place on July 5 when the landslide caused rocks and debris to spill onto the roadway leaving the driver with no choice but to outrun the havoc.?
The clip was shared by Now This News on Twitter. In It,?the car is seen speeding away from the tunnel, barely making it out before the debris fall to leave plumes of smoke in the air.?

The landslide temporarily?closed the Wechuan-Maerkang Highway.?
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The northern part of?China has been experiencing unusually high temperatures while southern parts are seeing wet conditions. The continuous rain has led to a spike in instances of landslides as the rainfall allows mud and water to carry rocks and small pieces of debris downhill.?
Last year, a?motorist had a narrow escape after huge boulders of rock fell on the Rishikesh-Chamba route in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand.
The boulder fell on the passage from where the motorist had passed a moment ago.?The landslide reportedly damaged an underground water pipeline and vehicular movement was also affected due to the?landslide.
The incident took place near Nagni Petrol Pump, 15 km before Chamba on the Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway.?The highway was later closed due to heavy boulders and stones falling from the hill. This had resulted in long queues of vehicles on both sides of it.? ??
