In a horrifying incident that took place in Russia, a circus lion pounced on a little girl after breaking a safety net during the show. In a video that is doing rounds of the internet, the lion can be seen running away from his trainer and pulling a four-year-old girl, scratching her face and chest.
The girl, Ksenia, survived the attack but the doctors said that she will be scarred for life. According to some reports, the girl was waving a flag which might have triggered the big cat and he broke the safety net to maul her. Watch the video here:?
Edgard Zapashny, director of Big Moscow state circus, said both the local circus and the girl's mother were responsible.
It is high time we understand that wild animals are not meant to be tamed, put in cages and circus rings. You might take all the precautions in the world, but putting a wild animal in a surrounding that is not its home, just for the sake of entertainment is cruel and definitely a bad idea.
