A woman has revealed that she refused to give her?boss?a tour of her home on a Zoom call,?resulting in her boss giving her more work and keeping her out of important meetings.
Alia, who posts on TikTok under the username @aliatyler, explained one of the reasons she decided to quit her job.??
"When everyone likes to claim they have a toxic job. But when you turn down your?boss' request for a Zoom tour of your house, she stopped inviting you to important meetings and gave you 2 large projects that needed to be completed in less than a week," she wrote in the video's onscreen text.??
In a follow-up video, Alia provided further context for how things panned out the way they did.
She said that she tends to keep her work and personal life separate because she doesn't believe they have any link with one another. She said she tries to keep her personal life as private as possible.?
¡°I just don¡¯t feel like my personal life has anything to do with my work life, so I like to keep the two separate, you know?¡± she says in the video.
She said she didn't coincide with her boss' personality, who continually allegedly asked Alia about her personal life.
The conflict came to a head when the two were supposed to have their weekly call.?
As Alia was getting ready to check-in for the call, she noticed that her Wi-Fi was down. So, she sent a?text to her boss to inform her of the delay, then logged on a few minutes later once the Wi-Fi returned.
Once on the call, Alia says she apologised and reiterated that her Wi-Fi?went down, adding that it also caused all of her smart appliances to disconnect.??
This prompted her boss's curiosity about the appliance, and she went on to ask her for a tour of the home.
Alia told her boss that she was not "really comfortable with that."
After some more alleged pestering from the boss, Alia says she simply stated, "I¡¯d rather just focus on work right now."
As per Alia, this did not go down well with her boss, who retaliated by giving her two massive projects which had to be completed in only two days.
Alia concluded, "Good news is, I no longer work there."
