The most recent victims of unsolicited moral policing and vile judgments trolls were a Kerala couple who chose to post their wedding photoshoot on social media.?
According to reports,?Rishi Karthikeyan tied the knot with Lakshmi on September 16, and the COVID-19 pandemic quite obviously came in the way of the lavishcelebrations they had planned.
To commemorate their wedding, the couple decided to do a photoshoot. They roped in a photographer friend and set off to Idukki's teagardens.
Rishi and Lakshmi did not anticipate the storm of hatefulcomments waiting for them after they made their pictures public.
Rishi said that the idea for the photoshoot sprung from the mind of the photographer, Akhil Karthikeyan, who runs Wedding StoriesPhotography.
The photos, in which the duo appear to only be draped inwhite sheets while playfully running through tea fields, seemed to rub somepeople in the wrong way, (because of course, some people seem to think they areborn to make 'righteous comments')
According to a report in The News Minute, many slammed thecouple for the photos, alleging they were indecent and inappropriate. Lakshmiwas also roundly bashed for 'nudity'.

"On the internet, they slut-shamed me and insulted myfamily and posed questions such as 'are you wearing clothes underneath?'"
She added that even friends and relatives called and advisedthem to take down the photos to maintain their privacy.

"The photographer was able to capture aesthetic shotsof us, is purely his creativity and camera skills. However, most users,especially on Facebook, began moral policing me and my wife over the nature ofthe pictures,Ąą says Rishi told The News Minute.?
Since this was a "post-wedding photoshoot", theidea perhaps was to show the fun and intimacy between a couple AFTER thewedding.

Lakshmi also said that she often wore off-shoulder tops andthat there was nothing wrong or revealing about the photos they had posted.
Despite the storm of abusive comments, the couple does not plan to take down the pictures because they know the discussion is frivolous?andwill eventually 'fizzle out'.
While it is praiseworthy that they have decided not to bow to trolls and their vile comments, it is heartbreaking that a couple is being trolled for something like this. It shows how narrow-minded and unnecessarily?critical people can be of other people's choices, that do not even affect them.?
Perhaps it is the fact that on the Internet people are hidden behind a screen name, that enables or encourages them to say things they would not otherwise say to someone's face; perhaps it's that they have nothing better to do; or the most disturbing of all, they've still not learnt what their boundaries are, and that what someone else does in their personal life is none of their business.??
