We bet you have not seen anything like this before.?A giant lizard went on an absolute rampage at a supermarket in Thailand. This is no movie, but a factual description of what actually happened.?
The water monitor nonchalantly walked through the aisles before climbing?shelves?and knocking goods to the floor leaving onlookers stunned.?
¡°The shelves are ruined! Oh my God,¡±?a witness can be heard saying on the video, which has gone viral?on social media.?
Water monitor lizards are common sight in Thailand and at 8ft in length, they are said to be the second largest lizard in the world,?after the Komodo dragon, which is also a type of monitor.??
The shoppers were left visibly surprised because you don't often cross paths with any animals in the supermarket when you're stocking up on snacks, let alone a giant lizard that looks scary to say the least.?
According to various reports, the rescue team were called to the scene and they dragged the monitor lizard out of the store before ushering it away into nearby undergrowth.?
Despite its rather unorthodox antics,?the monitor lizard did not manage?to take any food. The unusually large creature is believed to have struggled to find food outside, following months of dry weather with little rain which has lead to many canals and lakes drying up.?
