The call was taken seriously enough that 911 dispatched a unit to the caller's home.Officers arrived at Elijah's house and pointed an AR-15 rifle at him. The video of the incident is now going viral.
In CCTV footage of his porch, the gamer can be seen stepping out of his house as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police point their rifles at him.?
The security camera footage was posted on Twitter by industry insider GUARD Hunter."This guy accidentally called the cops while he was playing Rainbow 6 SiegeThey heard him say ¡°I killed 2 people¡± over the phone and thought it was a double homicide," the tweet read.
The officers misunderstood the unintentional call for a double homicide and arrived at Elijah's location in less than two minutes. When he arrived, they summoned him to explain the situation.Elijah raised his hands near the front door of his residence before walking up to the cops to ensure them that he had simply 'butt dialled' from his phone.?
However, the officers continued to inquire about his home and even inquired who else was present inside with him."I was playing the game when I dialled the phone. That was my fault. No, no, it's just me at home," Elijah stated.?
Someone claiming to be Elijah's friend posted the same video on TikTok and said that the police searched his entire house.The video has since gone popular on several social media platforms.In a subsequent Twitter, GUARD Hunter revealed the version of Elijah's friend.
A user wrote, "Me goin to check my mail box not worried bout my phone."
Another wrote, "Glad he¡¯s okay and that this is a situation we get to chuckle at."
While another man wrote, "Excellent job by the officers, stayed calm and let him explain the situation. They still had to verify his story, but the interaction seemed as peaceful as it could get."
