A man was left in shock after he discovered a covert espionage device attached to a box of cat food he purchased from a store.
The cat lover, who purchased the food from his two cats Lilliput and Goliath, said his girlfriend made the bizarre discovery while opening the container to feed the pair.
The couple said the box contained a spy camera and a transmitter. They have taken photos of the devices to substantiate their claims.
The man who chose to remain anonymous said the camera's lens was hidden in the packaging, which seemed to have been sealed very skillfully.?The lens appeared on the head of a cat photo printed on the face of the box. It clearly gives the impression of an ¡®extra eye¡¯.?The cat owner?said he picked up the box from a local Welcome store, a franchise of a Co-operative, according to The Mirror.
"Yesterday evening my girlfriend was getting it out of the cupboard and she was like, 'what is this?' At first, we couldn't figure out what it was, then we realised there was clearly a camera coming out the cat's head,¡± said the anonymous cat owner.
"I went back and looked at where that shelf was, where the cat food would have been, and most of that rack faces a bunch of bottled water but it kinda faces into a stock room area," he added.
The man said he has not been able to recover the footage from the camera but has an idea how the camera ended up in the box.?He reckons the camera was planted in the factory to keep an eye on the staff. It may also have been set up by a person looking to investigate a matter.?Interestingly, the camera had no battery.
"Also, there wasn't a battery in it. I plugged it into a USB, and I don't think it holds a charge, and there wasn't a battery in it. I think it broadcasts to something, it doesn't store data, but it didn't seem to have any power. Maybe it can hold a charge, I could be wrong. I don't know, it's very strange,¡± said the anonymous man.
