A tear-jerking video has gone viral on social media showing a vendor picking up golgappas that had fallen on the road.?
The clip was captured by a man named Ankit and shared on his Instagram page called Frames by Ankit.?
In the now-viral video, a helpless vendor can be seen desperately picking up golgappas from the road. While several people passed him, no one cared to stop and give him a helping hand. It's not entirely surprising given the society we live in.?
Moreover, people were left enraged and trolled Ankit for not helping the vendor either.
¡°I was driving a car and saw this man whose golgappa/panipuri/phuchka packet fell on the road. Slowed down a bit. Wanted to stop but there were a lot of cars behind me that started honking, so I had to move ahead. Life is tough when you have to struggle hard to earn money, and then you face such challenges,¡± reads the caption of the post," Ankit captioned his post.?
¡°The objective of this reel is to show the struggles and to encourage everyone to support such small vendors. It¡¯s not about picking golgappas one day but about supporting them throughout the year by buying things from them. The last two years have already broken their backs because of low business, and they are now coming back to their own through hard work. I hope seeing this video makes you realise how difficult their lives are as compared to large high end caf¨¦s and restaurants,¡± he added.?
The video has garnered more than 6.5 million views and more than 5.7 lakh likes. People were less than impressed with Ankit and criticised him for not helping the vendor.
"You are not helping him and making this video. wow," one user commented.?
"If u really cared u would've helped him out rather than taking a video to post," a second user commented.?
"Imagine you're a golgappa seller and all your golgappa's fell on the ground and a random person is filming you. The next day you find a reel featuring you with the caption 'Help a poor,'" a third added.?
Some users also wondered if the vendor would sell the same golgappas to his customers.?¡°And, now he is going to serve this to his customers,¡± a user said.?¡°The way he is putting his golgappa in a bag so safely that it won¡¯t break. I guess he is going to sell that again."?
