Going to McDonald's turned out to be extremely expensive for a man in the UK who went to a drive-thru facility at the Littleton outlet in West Midlands, UK. Several regular visitors were not informed about the rule change and were heavily fined.
According to reports, vehicles are now clocked by ANPR camera which means that their time is clocked as they line up for their food.?
A regular visitor of McDonald¡¯s Littleton outlet, Richard Moore reportedly said that he was fined four times while he was in a queue at the drive-thru at McDonald's. He said that he has been visiting the same outlet for the past two years but has never faced anything of this sort. However, the new rule led to him paying multiple parking tickets because he waited for more than 10 minutes.?
Moore also said that it was the outlet's responsibility to warn the customers about the change in policies. He said,?"None of this was done at the time the parking conditions changed and I continued to use McDonald's and the car park as I had done for the past two years."
Moore was fined with tickets worth 400 Euro (nearly Rs 34,000) after visiting the outlet several times recently. Disgruntled customers are now threatening to boycott the outlet and have also written a petition to the local councillor to increase the waiting time.?
The application has more than 3000 signatures.
