A mechanic in Brazil has had a nightmare after he took his girlfriend out in a customer's Porsche only to be abducted by thieves who believed him to be the owner of the car.
The incident which was caught on CCTV, shows the moment two men armed with guns ran towards the luxury car and forced the mechanic and his girlfriend out of the car.
According to Daily Mail, mechanic Francisco Rogerio Leandro Ramos, was taking a right turn on a road on October 24 when he was forced to slow down as another vehicle in front was blocking the road.
While the car in front of him was able to speed away, Ramos was unable to continue his drive as the two armed men ran towards the Porsche and forced him and his girlfriend out.
The alleged thieves, who thought?the mechanic was the wealthy owner of the vehicle, bundled him into one of the back seats?and then drove off.?
The unnamed businessman from the city of Nova Iguacu in Rio de Janeiro had left his Porsche at the garage to get its faulty stereo fixed, Daily Mail reported.?
While the car was in the workshop, Francisco decided it was the right time to take the vehicle for a spin?with his girlfriend in the neighbourhood.
However, things quickly?went south when he was abducted and taken?to a cashpoint, where he was forced to take money out.?
The thieves, though, were in for the disappointment after they realised there was?no money in his account. His captors soon realised he had been telling the truth when he said the car did not belong to him.
The men then drove to the neighbouring city of Nilopolis where they left the car without taking anything and released the mechanic.
It was not yet known if the police are investigating the case or if the mechanic faces disciplinary action.
