TikTok trends are crazy, but have they reached their zenith with this particular one? Men on TikTok are putting items like soy sauce on their testicles after they found out about a study that claims that testicles have taste receptors. The science experiments started after a TikTok user named Regan quoted an article from a 2013 study that concluded that mice have a form of taste receptors in their testes.?
¡°Did ya'll know that if a dude puts his balls in something he can taste it? He can taste it!¡± she says in her clip. She further said, ¡°I wish I was kidding. I wish I was. I'm not. If you have testicles, please dip your balls in something. t's for science, and I must know. Thank you.¡±
Well, there were men who were as curious as her.?
A TikTok user, Alx James, conducted the science experiment and his video is going viral. He says, ¡°I just went and got some soy sauce, and we're going to do this little science experiment together. And don't be nasty in the comments! This is the human anatomy. I'm gonna let my little boys just try it out. I'm literally feeding my twins.¡±
He then apparently puts on the soy sauce on his testicles and goes, ¡°Oh my God, I can taste the salt! That's ridiculous.¡±
Matthew Lush, another TikTok user claims in his video that he tasted something, though he admits he isn't sure if it's just his other senses at play.???
After more men started doing this, Dr Kirten Parekh, a 31-year-old foot and ankle surgeon in New Jersey, made a TikTok clip discrediting the claims.
He explained, ¡°This has more to do with male fertility and spermatogenesis. The functional implications of taste receptors distributed throughout the body are still unknown. Chances are you won't 'taste' anything in your dip experiments.¡±
Talking to BuzzFeed News he said, ¡°Just because you have taste buds in that area doesn¡¯t mean you can physically taste those flavors. Your body might receive it, but you won¡¯t have a perceptive taste of sweet, sour, or whatever flavor.¡±
Dr Kieran Kennedy, a psychiatrist in Melbourne, Australia, also said that while studies have shown that various tissues, including the testicles, have taste receptors, none of the research has proved that any animal can actually 'taste' via these receptors.?
Well, I guess, people who have testicles would have to find out for themselves.?
