For pizza delivery, a New Zealand pizza restaurant has created a one-of-a-kind payment method dubbed "Afterlife Pay." Here's what it means and this is how can customers avail it.?
Following the adoption of the "buy now, pay later" concept by various businesses, a pizza chain in New Zealand, "Hell's Pizza," began offering door-to-door pizza delivery with an uncanny twist to the payment method.?
According to the brand's website, "Afterlife Pay" will be available to 666 clients who sign a legally enforceable agreement revising their wills to defer payment until after they die.
Customers may find it unusual at first, but the pizza business assures them that there are no hidden fees or penalties. Indeed, CEO Ben Cumming claims that the arrangement alleviates New Zealanders' growing problem of falling into "buy now, pay later" traps.?
The Consumer Protection Authority of New Zealand, on the other hand, has thoroughly researched the scheme and warns that it is potentially addictive and can lead to debt difficulties. The authorities warn consumers not to use the system only to get a free pizza.
The scheme was originally designed to help New Zealanders cope with the high expense of living. Users can register for the "AfterLife Pay" initiative on the pizza chain's official website.?
Hell will invite individuals chosen "to sign a genuine amendment to their wills, authorising the collection of the cost of their pizza upon death." There will be no interest or fees, and the deal is legally enforceable."Hell CEO Ben Cumming claims that the AfterLife idea came about after the company was approached by other purchase now, pay later companies.?
