Have you ever tried ordering a biryani alone? One plate of steaming rice with chicken pieces popping up across the spread is always a delight, but it is also impossible to finish alone. Most eateries pack up a single plate of biryani?to the brim and make it hard for a single customer to get through all of it. However, it seems like one restaurant has found a solution for all the single people out there.
A Twitter, now X, user going by the handle 'Monarch' got a surprise when ordering biryani through a food delivery app. He shared his surprise on the microblogging platform, revealing that a restaurant used an unusual 'measuring unit' for biryani. The eatery labeled one portion of the Biryani on the delivery app as 'Bachelor'.
The unique measuring unit astonished the user, so he shared a screengrab of the app on Twitter, and soon the post went viral. Folks online were shocked yet amused by the hilarious measuring system of the restaurant.??
The 'Special Masala Chicken Biryani (Bachelor)' was priced at Rs 284 on the app. Essentially, it was a regular chicken masala biryani with an unusual label for measuring its portion size. 'Monarch' shared the image and questioned, "When did we start measuring things this way?"
People on the internet gave intriguing reactions. Some came to the restaurant's aid and sided with their unique method of measuring portions. One wrote, ¡°The food industry respects its patrons. Unlike the real estate industry.¡± While another added, ¡°In their defence, it sounds better than food for a single person.¡±
Others were more interested in cracking jokes about the system: "He must have done BBA (Bachelor of biryana association)." Another was reminded of the iconic song ¡®Pappu Can¡¯t Dance¡¯ from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, "maybe the chicken was muscular ¡ and popular ¡ spectacular ¡"??
