Tokyo, renowned for its vibrant energy and bustling streets, is also synonymous with the phenomenon of tiny apartments. Faced with the challenges of high population density and limited space availability, the city has become a global showcase for innovative urban living solutions.?
In this sprawling metropolis, where every square meter counts, compact living spaces have become the norm rather than the exception and now a?video of a little apartment in Tokyo has gone viral.?
In the video, a man is shown giving a tour of a residence that many may regard as a "insane" choice of lodging. YouTuber Norm Nakamura shared the video, stating that the apartment is in a premium area of Tokyo and can be rented for around $900 (rs 75,000).?
¡°Tiny Apartments are far from uncommon, but this tiny and completely see-through; that's new. The crazier part is just how expensive it is... Japan's Micro Apartment scene just got a new layer of ¡®but why¡¯,¡± Nakamura wrote while sharing the video.
In the video, Nakamura is seen walking about the residence, which resembles a large balcony with see-through panes all around. That's not all; throughout the video, Nakamura is perplexed as to where one can place their bed in the flat or store their stuff, such as clothes and kitchenware.
The video was uploaded approximately five days ago. Since then, it has had close to 7.4 lakh views. The share has also received multiple remarks.
"This feels like a Black Mirror episode when the tenant is the entertainment for everyone looking to watch," a user on the site wrote. "Dude, this is absurd - the price, the layout, and the obvious health and safety threat throughout the entire facility! I believe you should try to arrange a tour with one of the residents because I'd like to know how people live there!" remarked another.?
"Of all the sites you've presented, this is the first one that elicited an immediate 'Nope, absolutely not' reaction. "No way this is livable," added a third.
