The eyewitness who captured the viral footage of an IndiGo pilot being physically assaulted by a passenger on board the plane has detailed the circumstances surrounding the event.?
Evgenia Belskaia, a Russian actress based in India, was on board the?IndiGo flight?(6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa. The flight was delayed for 13 hours at Delhi International Airport yesterday, causing passengers to lash out at the crew and pilots.
Belsakaia explained, "I was flying her team to Goa from Delhi and arrived early to board the trip, which was due to take off at 7:40 a.m. The IndiGo team said that the flight had been delayed by one hour. It took at least ten hours before we were allowed to board the plane."
"After boarding the airplane, we were informed that the trip had been delayed by two hours. The passengers were furious and began questioning the crew and the pilot," she claimed.?
The Russian actress decried the horrible act of physical assault but also criticised the pilot for exacerbating the situation.
"The?pilot came and said you are asking too many questions and we missed our turn because of this." According to an eyewitness, the "Pilot blamed the passengers for the delay."?
Belsakaia's popular video shows a man in a yellow hoodie running up from the last row and hitting Anup Kumar, the flight's co-pilot, who was announcing a further delay.?
The accused has been named Sahil Kataria. "It is terrible to attack the pilot; nonetheless, why is he blaming the passengers? Everyone was nervous, and instead of helping them, you made matters worse," Evgenia stated in her video message.?
The accused, Sahil Kataria, attempted to hit the co-pilot, Anup Kumar, and the cabin crew rushed to assist the pilot, telling the accused, "You can't do this...you can't do this!"??
Kataria responded, "Why can't I do this?" Why can't I? The accused said, "Chalana hai to chala, warna gate khol" (fly if you wish, otherwise open the gate), after assaulting Kumar.?
The pilot has filed a complaint against him, and the airline is in the midst of opening a formal case. The flier later apologised to the pilot on the tarmac after deboarding the plane, saying, "Sir, I am sorry," to which the captain responded, "No sorry, you raised your hands on me."?
