A robber raided a retired teacher's home in Tamil Nadu but left an apologetic note promising to replace the stolen stuff within a month.
The intriguing occurrence occurred on Megnanapuram's Sathankulam road on June 17, when Selvin and his wife, both retired teachers, left to meet their son in Chennai.
Selvi, the couple's domestic helper, was hired to clean the house on a regular basis during their vacation.?
When Selvi went to Selvin's house on June 26, she was surprised to see the main entrance open.

She quickly notified Selvin. When Selvin returned home, he discovered that he had been robbed of Rs 60,000, 12 gm gold jewelery, and a pair of silver anklets.
When police inspected Selvin's home, they discovered an apology letter allegedly written by the burglar, in which he apologised and offered to return the stolen items in a month.
"Forgive me." I'll return it in a month. I am doing this in case someone in my household is ill," the letter added.?Megnanapuram police have filed a case and begun an inquiry.

A similar instance occurred last year in Kerala, when a burglar who stole a gold necklace from a three-year-old child returned the proceeds from its sale, along with an apologetic letter. The incident happened near Palakkad.
