The man behind the camera is California-based, 59-year-old Jay Brewer, founder and president of Prehistoric Inc. Brewer enjoys a massive following on social media, including 7.8 million followers on Instagram and 20.8 million on TikTok.?According to his bio on his YouTube channel, he "love(s) reptiles, extreme challenges and adventures." He is also a zookeeper who often posts videos of his close encounters when dealing with reptiles, including semi-aquatic ones.??

The video opens with a shot of a crocodile, expertly camouflaged in the mud. Brewer stands recording the massive croc whom he can see clearly, being an expert and all, when it suddenly charges at him. What's shocking for viewers is how absolutely the giant reptile is at te beginning of the clip, and when it opens it giant maw while lunging forward, all hell breaks lose. Luckily for all involved, it seemed nothing more than a threat for the croc who probably wanted Brewer to back off, and back off he did.
The clip shared on May 5 raked in 4.2 million views, 161K likes and comments to match. "He wanted to talk to you about your cars extended warranty," joked one Instagram user. "Nope! That Croc THOUGHT he was well hidden but I saw those teefies a mile away," wrote one observant person. "Im from florida and can spot any gator with one simple trick¡ always assume theres gators or crocs. That way youre ready when you do see one. You typically get a good eye for them overtime," suggested a third.
