It is no surprise that some landlords exploit their tenants. While some keep interfering in your daily life, others try to deduct money from your security deposit for no reason.?
An example of a landlord being unreasonable is clearly shown in this video where a landlord is complaining to her tenant that their 'spotless' flat is 'filthy'.?Twitter user Hani posted the video with the caption, "I hate landlords. please watch as mine pretends our absolutely spotless flat is filthy."
The clip shows the landlord doing an inspection in the flat and walking around what looks like a neat and clean kitchen.?
In the video, the landlord asks Hani, "If you can take some pictures of dirty things."
Hani replies from behind the camera, "Yeah, I'm just doing a video, so when you do something I just zoom in."
The landlord points to clean surfaces and cupboards and says: "All the surfaces need to be clean and the windows."
In another video,?Hani filmed her clean bathroom and wrote, "Everything is immaculate and in full working order! and she had the nerve to say she needs to deduct fees for the place not being clean!"
In another tweet, Hani added, "But last month she was asking if we could extend our contract because she didn¡¯t think she would find tenants to keep it as tidy as us."
The baffling video has gone viral on social media - it has been viewed more than 7.47 lakh times with over 41,000 likes and almost 5,000 retweets.?
One user said, "As a landlord ain¡¯t no way I¡¯m finessing my tenants. My point is to make money yea but I actually respect your privacy and view you as human and I¡¯m not upping the rent for fun only if I ever had to."
Another wrote, "Mine gave us a dirty flat that we had to spend hours cleaning the first day and then tried to make us pay for a professional cleaning service when we left."?
"This is a common tactic of ¡°bill extortionate unnecessary cleaning fees to a sham company¡± (which landlord probably owns/is in partnership with) who then do nothing/very little cleaning for a fraction of the cost they took from the deposit.Call them out and they backtrack," wrote a third user.?
