Woman Dies During Home Birth After Husband Uses YouTube Tutorials For Delivery Procedure

A heartbreaking event occurred in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, where a 27-year-old woman died during childbirth. This tragic outcome resulted from severe blood loss as her husband tried a method he had learned from a YouTube video for a home birth.

The main reason for her death was uncontrolled blood loss, primarily due to her husband's improper umbilical cord cutting.

Rathika, the Medical Officer at the Primary Health Center (PHC), complained to the police regarding the demise of Loganayaki, who lived in Puliampatti near Pochampalli.

Police sources indicate that Loganayaki's husband initiated a home birth when she began to experience labor pains.

As reported by the media, the woman was brought to the Primary Health Center (PHC) in an unconscious state and was pronounced dead upon reaching there.

Following these events, the police registered a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

A similar incident took place in 2018 when a tragic occurrence unfolded.?
