All 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu will vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19. And in the southern state, the election campaign is nearing a fever pitch as political parties and candidates are making all efforts to turn every vote in their favour.
Vidhya Rani the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) candidate in Tamil Nadu¡¯s Krishnagiri Lok Sabha constituency is also busy campaigning these days.
This is her electoral politics debut, but Vidhya Rani has been in the limelight for a very long time for a different reason - because of her father.

Vidhya Rani is a lawyer by profession and as an activist, she had been working for the cause of tribals and Dalits.
She entered into politics in 2020 when she joined the BJP and even described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a father figure.
However, in March this year, she switched to NTK, a Tamil nationalist party that still venerates Velupillai Prabhakaran, the founder of LTTE.
Vidya who calls Veerappan her inspiration said that her father wanted to serve the people but the way he chose to do that was not fair, adding she had joined politics to serve the people.
"I have been given a chance by the party to serve the people of India where I am going to speak for the people of Krishnagiri...My focus would be to work for the betterment of farmers and to empower women. I will be there for the people as their spokesperson," she said.
Her promises also include better health facilities and a railway station in Krishnagiri if she is elected.
Veerappan, who terrorised the Sathyamangalam Forest for decades and was infamous for killing hundreds of elephants for their tusks and smuggling sandalwood shot dead the Special Task Force of Tamil Nadu Police in 2004.
