Be it rolling on the road under the harsh summer sun to reach a temple or fasting for days at a stretch, keeping the faith and believing in your God and going the extra mile to show devotion is acceptable. These are beliefs that mean something to the people upholding them, and that we need to respect.
But from the looks of this video it seems this lady's end goal was to get a fun photo out of the stunt she eventually ended up pulling. To say this was done for the sake of devotion would be overselling it.
Yet another view is that her's was genuine case of a devotee following a ritual and getting stuck in the process.
Apparently this woman in Gujarat got herself stuck under an elephant idol at a temple. The video of the incident is going viral on social media, including WhatsApp and TikTok, and people have been left in splits. No, they are not sadists, they're just appreciating the way this woman keeps her calm and even poses for a picture during the ordeal.

The woman seems to be performing a ritual of sorts where people attempt to slide from underneath the idol. It is probably a common ritual performed by devotees at this temple in Gujarat, although that's not confirmed.
And once her head comes out the other end, she seems to realise she can't go on without struggle. But what she does do is immediately break in to a pose. This was a little relatable.
Not much later, other women gathered around her to pull her out. And for a full two minutes they seem to be struggling. By the end of the video there are over half a dozen women trying to help her: some pushing her from behind, some pulling her hands.
Finally, after intense struggle she is helped out of her plight and the women share a good laugh about the incident. They can be heard clapping and chanting ¡®Jai Ambe.¡¯ The entire episode seems minor but this video has been going viral garnering over a lakh views just on Facebook.
In the midst of all the tragic and disturbing news that we come across everyday, every hour for that matter, it is incidents like these that prove to be comic reliefs of sorts.
