The internet is a weird place sometimes. It's a virtual space where information traverses boundaries, linking individuals worldwide. Amid this vast digital landscape, peculiar and surprising content often emerges, notably in videos.?
Jennifer Eversole, from Santa Rosa, California, shared her story on TikTok.?
This incident happened in June, and it recently gained attention on various social media platforms, quickly becoming viral.
"My eye drops sit directly next to superglue, and they're the same size bottle, and I wasn't paying attention, and now my eye's glued shut."
Ms. Eversole also recalled and said, "felt an intense burning, really bad burning, it felt hot."?
"And then I shut my eye really fast," she says. "And I don't know if that was a good or bad thing because it didn't get on my eyeball that much. And maybe it wouldn't have glued my eyes shut if I hadn't shut them, but I don't know what would have happened. It could have been worse."
There, doctors used numbing eye drops to pry her eye open and discovered scratches on her eye.?
She was told to keep her eye covered until it healed.?According to the outlet, Mr. Eversole later explained that the error occurred due to applying her daughter's press-on nails using super glue.
"My mistake is that I didn't put it away afterward, and I remember thinking, 'I should probably put that away so that nobody mistakes those as eye drops,' which is exactly what happened," she was quoted as saying by People.
In a TikTok update, she mentioned that her eye was "healing nicely" after visiting an ophthalmologist.
If glue gets into the eye, it can cause irritation and watering. Products like nail glue, super glue, and eyelash glue can give off harsh scents that affect the eyes. In some cases, medical attention may be needed to ensure proper care, as it can be dangerous for vision.
