As per a Bloomberg report, iPhonemaker Apple is delving into the realm of personal robotics, viewing it as a significant opportunity. The company's engineers are reportedly exploring the creation of a mobile robot capable of autonomously following users within their residences.?
This project is being conducted with utmost secrecy, and alongside it, Apple is said to have developed an advanced tabletop home device that utilizes robotics to maneuver a display.
The report stated that Apple's project is in its early stages, leaving uncertainty about whether the products will eventually be launched. However, the company views these potential products as a fresh revenue stream, particularly following the cancellation of an electric vehicle project earlier this year. Additionally, Apple plans to venture into mixed-reality goggles, although it is anticipated to take several years before this becomes a significant revenue generator, as per the report.

Matt Costello and Brian Lynch are said to be supervising the hardware development aspect. Previously, Apple had outlined its focus on three key areas for the future: automotive, home, and mixed reality. However, this was before the cancellation of its electric vehicle project. Additionally, Apple maintains a confidential facility near its campus in Cupertino, California, resembling the interior of a house, where it can test potential home devices and initiatives for the future.
