At a time when layoffs, hiring slowdown and recession fears are looming everywhere, a California-based company is doing something you would otherwise laugh off thinking its too good to be true. Cloud-based security firm Verkada is?paying its employees to socialize after 3 p.m.?
Under its 3-3-3 perk, the US-based firm Verkada will pay for three or more employees to go out for food and drinks after 3 p.m every week. It is suggested that employees should use this perk once or twice a week and are permitted to spend $30 (roughly Rs 2,500) on these outings, the amount being paid by the company.
"The traditional way to do this is happy hour,.We thought, can we do it better?", the company's CFO Kameron Rezai said, as per Business Insider report.

The $3.5 billion company had reportedly started the programme last year in April and said that all 1,800 of its employees have participated in it at least once. "The idea is it's the afternoon and three people go out and hang out together, chances are you'll talk about something that's relevant or work-related and ultimately that will benefit us," CEO Filip Kaliszan said.?
He went on to say that in order for a startup like Verkada to remain competitive in the market, particularly when facing $100 billion tech companies as competitors, this kind of interaction is crucial.?One thing is required of the 3-3-3 program, though: employees must post a picture of their hangout session on their "3-3-3" Slack channel. No pre-approval is required for employees to ask and hang out after 3 pm.
The company and its policies were revealed when a TikTok video featuring the 3-3-3 perk went viral. Additionally, Verkada promoted it with posters all over the office.??"It wasn't about the money it wasn't about the budget," CEO Kaliszan said, adding "It was about everyone knowing that this is something they can do and then everyone getting excited about it."
Founded in 2016, Verkada is a cloud-based security firm that went from selling security cameras to now offering six different product lines including access control, alarms, air quality detectors, guest management devices, and intercoms.
