The Musk versus?Zuckerberg rivalry just seems to be becoming a never-ending one. While their cage fight is in limbo, their online feud is certainly making up for that. The two billionaires' punching bag remains the same. Each other's social media platforms?are X and Facebook respectively.
In an early morning tweet today,?Elon Musk again attacked Zuckerberg. The reason this time? Allegedly, per a new investigation, Mark Zuckerberg¡¯s Facebook is funding activists to stall their adversaries during a national referendum by demanding censorship against them. This is in stark contrast with Meta CEO Zuckerberg¡¯s earlier statement that Facebook has independent fact-checkers and is open to all perspectives without meddling in elections.?
Reacting to the news, billionaire Elon Musk tweeted that "Facebook is manipulating the public almost everywhere on Earth. That is why they won¡¯t open source their algorithm."
Musk's early morning tweet against Facebook has gone viral, with over 7 million views already within just about four hours of the tweet. Elon has 154 million followers on X.
World's richest person Elon Musk had made X¡¯s recommendation algorithm open source in March 2023 with much fanfare.?Twitter had released the code that chooses which tweets show up on your timeline?to GitHub?and has?put out a blog post explaining the decision. It breaks down what the algorithm looks at when determining which tweets to feature in the For You timeline and how it ranks and filters them, as per TheVerge report.
According to Twitter¡¯s blog post at that time, ¡°The recommendation pipeline is made up of three main stages.¡± First, it gathers ¡°the best Tweets from different recommendation sources,¡± and then it ranks those tweets with ¡°a machine learning model.¡± Lastly, it filters out tweets from people you¡¯ve blocked, tweets you¡¯ve already seen, or tweets that are not safe for work, before putting them on your timeline.
