Recently, the list of highest paid CEOs in the US in 2023 was released by the Wall Street Journal. Interestingly, Nikesh Arora featured second on the list with a significant remuneration of $151.43 million (Rs 1,260 crore approx).
CEO of Palo Alto Network, Nikesh Arora features way higher on the list beating the likes of high-profile tech titans like Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg(Rs 203 crore) and Google Chief Sundar Pichai (Rs 73 crore approx).
Hailing from Delhi, Arora graduated from IIT-BHU with a B-tech degree in Electrical Engineering. Before his stint at Palo Alto Network, he made a place for himself in big companies like Google and Softbank.?
Remarkably, in 2012, Arora assumed the position of the highest-paid executive at Google after being recruited with a $51 million(Rs 424 crore) compensation package. Throughout his tenure with the Silicon Valley giant, Nikesh Arora amassed stock awards valued at a minimum of $200 million(Rs 1,665 crore).

Palo Alto Networks has defended its CEO's substantial compensation by citing the executive's impressive performance. Regarding Arora's pay, the company stated last year: "Given Mr. Arora's substantial vested ownership and anticipated future vesting over the coming years, the Board concluded that a substantial equity grant was essential to maintain Mr. Arora's commitment and involvement."
The report also featured Arvind Krishna (IBM), Badrinarayanan Kothandaraman (Enphase Energy), Sanjiv Lamba (Linde), among other Indian-descent leaders.
