Amazon has disclosed a big move whose announcement itself has taken its founder Jeff Bezos on the brink of becoming world's richest person.
World's second richest person Jeff Bezos, who had founded Amazon in the year 1994, is planning to sell up to 50 million shares of the e-commerce giant. The billionaire plans to do so by January 2025.
According to a stock exchange filing on Friday, 60-year-old Jeff Bezos has adopted a trading plan to sell 50 million shares at any time before January 31st next year. As of now, those 50 million would be valued at approximately $8.6 billion.
In the event that Bezos goes ahead with his plan, it will be his first Amazon stock sale since 2021.
