This year¡¯s Shark Tank India season has been a tad bit controversial. Notices have been flung back and forth between the makers and the startup founders.
Previously, Sony sent a notice to tea startup company Dorje Tea for using clips of their pitch on their social media handles.
In a twist, this time fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) startup Fit and Flex has sent a legal notice to Sony Pictures Networks accusing them of not honoring their ¡®contractual obligations¡¯. The startup alleges that SPN deactivated their social media accounts, leading to operational disruptions. Fit and Flex claims that Sony violated partnership terms, didn't fulfill contractual obligations, and ignored attempts at resolution, causing significant challenges for the business.
¡°Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues, we have faced complete radio silence from Sony, augmenting our challenges and highlighting the lack of accountability,¡± Pathik Patel, Founder of Fit & Flex, said as quoted by a Pinkvilla report..
Fit and Flex, a snacking brand featured on Shark Tank India season 3, sought Rs 1 crore from the Sharks in exchange for a 3% stake in their company during their pitch. However, they did not secure any deal with the investors.
