Asian women earn more on average when compared to white men, according to a new report. Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared a study showing median weekly earnings of white men and Asian women from 2000 to 2020. He commented, "Ever wonder why Asian women aren't mentioned by the left when it lectures us about race and gender pay gaps? Because Asian women are the stone that kills both narratives." Musk added, "Asian women earn more than white men."
The progressive left's belief that the United States is filled with white supremacy and misogyny has become quite popular. However, new statistics from the US Department of Labor challenge this idea.
In the first three quarters of 2021, Asian women's median weekly earnings were higher than those of white men. The top-earning Asian female groups are Taiwanese, Indian, and Chinese.
According to the 2019 census data, women from various Middle Eastern backgrounds out-earned their white counterparts: full-time working Iranian, Turkish, and Palestinian women earned more than white women. Additionally, a 2017 University of Michigan study found that African-born black women in the US had both higher earnings and income growth compared to white women.

What explains these big differences? Aren¡¯t people of colour and women both groups who society doesn¡¯t treat fairly, in a world that favours straight white men above all? According to the idea of intersectionality, women from ethnic backgrounds face a double disadvantage because of their combined identity traits of being oppressed. But this popular "woke" neo-Marxist way of thinking that comes from universities is far from the truth.
When an ethnic group doesn't do as well ¡ª in school, at work, financially ¡ª the left says it's because of outside reasons, claiming society has unfairly treated this minority and held them back. So how does the left explain why Asian women are doing so well? They don't even try, because there are cultural qualities and behaviours within the community that are behind their impressive success.
Many studies show that Asian communities stress the importance of taking personal responsibility and achieving success through hard work more than other groups. For instance, a survey by the Pew Research Center found that Asian Americans were much more likely than the general public to believe that "most people who want to get ahead can do it if they work harder".
When it comes to Asian women specifically, it's no surprise they're doing so well in the job market. Compared to other groups of women, they tend to have fewer children, and they have them later in life. They're less likely to have children outside of marriage, and because of the strong family connections in Asian culture over many generations, they have more help from their parents and extended family in raising their children. All of these cultural qualities mean they have fewer family responsibilities and more time to focus on advancing their careers.
