A design sketch of an upcoming electric scooter by Husqvarna is now doing the rounds on the Internet. Spotted at a presentation by Pierer Mobility for shareholders the EV will mark its debut in the year 2021. The design is way different from what the Bajaj Chetak has to offer.
In an attempt to bring in new electric two-wheelers in the Indian market, Bajaj Auto will be helping its partners KTM and Husqvarna through its own EV developments. We had reported in November last year how the company will be sharing the e-scooter platform of the Bajaj Chetak with the two firms for future electric scooters. It seems one of the resulting EVs has now been hinted at in a recent presentation.
A design sketch of an upcoming electric scooter by Husqvarna is now doing the rounds on the Internet. Spotted at a presentation by Pierer Mobility for shareholders, the electric scooter will mark its debut in the year 2021. It can be seen from the design sketch that the EV is still in the concept stage.
A decked up Chetak
Now since Bajaj is sharing the underpinnings of the Chetak electric with Husqvarna, the upcoming electric scooter by the firm is expected to be based on the same. With the marquee, however, this one is expected to be more flashy and more performance oriented.
The same can be deduced from the sketch, which shows a modern design with sharp creases and bold distinctions. A neon highlight can be seen on the side of the body panels, enhancing the visual appeal of the EV. The design is way different from what the Bajaj Chetak has to offer.
It is expected that the Husqvarna electric scooter will offer a better range and performance than the Chetak. It will come with a 4kW electric motor and an all-digital instrumentation with several connectivity options.
It is being reported that the upcoming EV will be produced at Bajaj¡¯s production facility in Chakan. Once manufactured, it will be sold alongside the Bajaj Chetak as a more premium offering in the Indian market. More information is yet awaited on the EV.
