Here Are 5 Fastest Electric Super Cars In The World
Electric cars have put an end to almost all the myths prevalent till around a decade ago about their performance. They were not as powerful, efficient, or even practical, they said. A look at electric cars today easily proves all of this wrong. They are capable of traversing over long distances, they are proven to be more efficient than their IC engine counterparts and of course, they are the best option for the environment. But are they as fast? Here is the answer.
Automobili Pininfarina recently made the headlines for an all electric make called Battista. At the time of its launch, the legendary design firm claimed that the Battista is the quickest production car ever produced. A simple reason that helped the car achieve that tag is the instantaneous torque available in electric motors right from the start. But when it comes to speed, well, the Battista still impresses with a jaw dropping 400+ km top speed. Here is a look at it and others in the segment that are giving the petrol, diesel supercars a run for their money!

1. Pininfarina Battista
Unveiled at this year¡¯s Geneva Motor Show it was hailed as the quickest car ever produced - i.e. an acceleration of 0 to 100 kmph in less than two seconds and to 300 kmph in less than 12 seconds.
Even more impressive is its top speed, i.e. north of 400 kmph through its jaw-dropping 1900 bhp. Think that would compromise on range? Think again, because this one claims a massive range of 450 km on a single charge.
2. Tesla Roadster
It is impossible to make a list on electric cars and not name the one firm that brought them to the international mainstage. Tesla marked its global debut with the Roadster, an electric supercar based on the Lotus Elise chassis at first. Over the years, the car has evolved and now claims an acceleration of 0 to 100 kmph in 2 seconds, a top speed of 400+ kmph and a mind-blowing range of a 1000 km on a single charge.
3. Porsche Taycan Turbo S
The iconic supercar maker has marked its EV debut recently with a rather mesmerizing car. It has got screens all over, a high-end aerodynamic stance, iconic headlights, LEDs and everything that will make you look at it and go whoa!
The Taycan Turbo S runs from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds and this is not what Porsche hails as the best part about the car. Instead, it claims that the car can make such runs repeatedly without any drop in performance. All thanks to its world¡¯s first 800 volts system.
Then add a range of 412 km and a top speed of 260 kmph and that¡¯s the Taycan Turbo S for you.
4. Aston Martin Rapide E
An electric iteration of the V12-engined Rapide S, the Rapide E has already found its way to a James Bond movie. Considering Aston Martin worked on an 800 volt systema and twin electric motors for the same, it is safe to say that the first ever electric Aston Martin will be as spectacular as the company¡¯s lineage. Top speed - 250 kmph with 0 to 100 in 4 seconds and a range of 322 km.
5. Audi PB 18 eTron
Audi is going all out with its PB 18 eTron. With the most futuristic looks of the lot, the electric car has been designed for both the roads and the tracks. For this, there is a mono-seating for the driver in the track mode too!
Since it is a concept, the top speed of the supercar is yet unknown. What is known is the 0 to 100 time - a mere 2.1 seconds. Well, we guess that¡¯s what you get with triple electric motors. That, and a range of 500+ km.
