Here's Why So Many Disney Princesses Wear Blue-Coloured Dresses
Blue is said to be the colour of trust calm and serenity as well as that of confidence. Designer Christopher Kane said: When you think of every Disney heroine - Cinderella Sleeping Beauty Jasmine - theyre all wearing blue.
As kids, we adored the Disney princesses - Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, and Ariel. But as kids, what we might not have noticed is the one striking resemblance in all of them - the iconic leading ladies are always wearing blue!

It's the ethereal powder-blue dress that has mesmerized millions of little girls around the world - From Alice¡¯s day blue dress, Elsa¡¯s embellished cape to Jasmine¡¯s turquoise harem pants and crop top. Turns out there¡¯s a very specific reason behind it.
It's not a coincidence - it's meant to "empower" young girls, reports The Sun. Blue is said to be the colour of trust, calm and serenity, as well as that of confidence.
Designer Christopher Kane told Elle magazine: "When you think of every Disney heroine - Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine - they're all wearing blue! It's a thing, Disney Blue."
"You're adding a bit of power to the character by giving her the blue," Leatrice Eiseman of the Pantone Color Institute told Allure.
"It's a very subtle way of saying, 'Yeah, but young women, young girls, can be empowered, too.'"
While sky blue is also a symbol of positivity and hope, Eiseman added: "It's dependable. It's reliable. It might cloud up, but we know it's there."
The main intention was to add that little bit of a power to all the beautiful Disney ladies and it sure has had a massive impact.
Kudos to Disney for putting so much thought behind this. It's a small yet empowering thing.
