Passengers On The First Charter Flight To See Aurora Were Absolutely Stunned By 'Light Pillars' Filling The Night Sky
A life-altering experience!
Predominantly found in higher altitudes in the Arctic and Antarctic region, Aurora Borealis is one of the most beautiful sights Mother Nature has to offer.
Early on Friday, the first commercial flight to view the Aurora Australis landed in New Zealand and everyone on board was left startled.
Boeing 767 with 130 star-struck passengers suddenly became popular when flyers shared their experience on social media.

The eight-hour long flight took off from the South Island on Thursday and flew to a latitude of 62 degrees south, where organisers said passengers were guaranteed a view of the aurora.
¡°Our lives are forever altered by this incredible experience and we are eternally grateful to have been a part of this remarkable event,¡± said passenger Roz Charlton on Facebook.
The cost of the tickets on this flight was priced at NZ $ 4,000 ( 1.8 Lakh) for the economy and $ 8,000 (3.6 Lakh) for business class.
When Earth¡¯s magnetic field interacts with electrically charged particles emitted by the sun, we get Aurora, a scintillating phenomenon unique to earth's poles.
¡°A lot of people were like kids at Christmas,¡± said Mark Hathaway, a TVNZ reporter, as reported by The Guardian.
"Passengers spent roughly 4 hours on the flight witnessing this magical show and were back home in time for breakfast," he added.
Following the popularity and the success of the event, organisers are planning a second flight next year and I now know where I am heading for vacation!
