McDonald's Asks A Muslim Woman To Remove Her Hijab If She Wants To Get Served, Video Goes Viral
The girl filmed the entire incident, in which she is seen questioning the security guard that why can't she enter the restaurant with her hijab? The security guard can be heard on the video saying, ¡°It¡¯s just a matter of taking it [hijab] off.¡±
In a shocking and shameful incident, McDonald's, a renowned and well-known food chain refused to serve a Muslim woman wearing hijab.
The 19-year-old girl was asked to remove her hijab at a McDonald's outlet on Seven Sister¡¯s Road in Holloway, London. Well, why this discrimination?
My friend was refused service at a McDonalds today in London because she was wearing a Hijab. When she started recording the incident, she was told to stop but thankfully didn¡¯t. Thank you to the kind man who defended her against the security guard and employees at the store...

I wear this for religious reasons and I¡¯m not ashamed of it, and I will stand in line and I will get the food I want because this isn¡¯t OK.¡±

The guard is seen telling everyone who supported the young girl to mind their business. We can also see another staff member asking her to stop filming the incident. He also tries to pacify her and asks her what she wants to buy.
The girl's friend posted the video on Twitter and it's going viral.
In a world where so many forces are trying to divide us on the basis of colour, race, religion and caste, an incident like this only lets humanity down. Why was she insulted the way she was? Was she committing a crime? Was she offending anyone? Was her faith coming in the way of someone else's? Certainly not. It is not okay for anyone to treat another human being in a way that hurts their self-esteem and dignity. McDonald's should look into this and make sure that something like this doesn't happen again, in any of its outlets.
