He not only headlined the show but also co-produced the web series that has given 2023 a rocking start. Bhuvam Bam showcased his acting chops commercially in the web series Taaza Khabar and managed to win the day.

Bam rose to fame with his Youtube Channel BB Ki Vines. He would enact multiple characters in a selfie format. Without making much use of creative strategies or tactics, he garnered a fan-following mainly on the basis of his content. The comedian had been working relentlessly for years and even came out with a YouTube web series Dhindora which garnered a great response from his followers. However, he truly arrived in the commercial sense with Taaza Khabar. The show, which was released a few days ago, has already amassed fabulous reviews from fans and critics alike.

It revolves around a poor boy from the slum who is in charge of a pay-and-use toilet. Vasant Gawde aka Vasya dreams of becoming a rich and successful man but limited means and bad luck hinders all his plans. Until one day, when the wheels of fortune finally turn in his favour. He is given a gift or a vardaan, if you may! This Vardaan makes him see all the taaza khabar well in advance. He uses this to his advantage and finally becomes a super rich businessman. However, it isn¡¯t just Bhuvan Bam who should be given all the credit. The cast members of this edge-of-the-seat thriller have played their parts so well that they truly make this story worth binge-watching in one go.

1. Shriya Pilgaonkar

She is one nepo kid who is making a name for herself truly on the basis of her talent. Shriya has bagged some of the most interesting roles - be it Mirzapur¡¯s Sweety or playing the lead attorney in Guilty Minds, she is a gifted actress who can never give a bad performance. In Taaza Khabar, she plays a prostitute who is also Vasya¡¯s love interest. She is someone who is working towards her dream of owning her own clothing line while making a living in a brothel. She provides unending support to Vasya while turning her own dreams into a reality at the same time.

2. Deven Bhojani

Mostly seen in comic roles, our very own Dushyant (from Sarabhai) plays Mehboob bhai who is a pure soul and a struggling bakery owner who is struggling hard to make ends meet. However, he still believes in doing good for the underprivileged and always extends a helping hand to those in need.

3. Shilpa Shukla

The Chak De India actress plays the madam of a brothel that houses several prostitutes including Madhu (played by Shriya Pilgaonkar). She often works at Shetty Sahab¡¯s behest, an influential business goon-turned-politician and carries out illegal work for commission. She comes across as a good character but she undergoes a surprising transformation during the course of the show.

4. Nitya Mathur

She plays Mehboob¡¯s nerdy daughter Shazia who keeps to herself but is a genius nerd who has a solution for all the problems. She proves to be a great pillar of support to Vasya once his plan to become rich takes off.

5. Prathmesh Parab

The sidekick of Vasya, he is the one that provides comic relief in the most serious and tense situations. Peter is a friend who will stick by you in your thick and thin. When everyone doubted Vasya¡¯s capabilities, it was Peter who stuck by him and supported him unconditionally.

6. JD Chakravarthy

The antagonist, Shetty Sahab, is the hardcore dushman who strikes Vasya once he finds out that the woman he loves is interested in him. He is a regular at the brothel and will go to any length to defeat Vasya and get Madhu back.

7. Atisha Naik

Playing Vasya¡¯s mother Alpana, she is the sacrificial mother India who works as a house help to run the house. She also has to deal with an alcoholic husband who remains unemployed and unsuccessful. She wants to provide the best life to her only son and even resorts to stealing from her employer to celebrate her son¡¯s 25th birthday.

The character arcs of the entire cast are so beautiful that they provide a purpose to Vasya¡¯s journey. Instead of only concentrating on his plot, these characters stand out and contribute to the story in their own unique way. The web series has turned out to be a humongous success only because of the simplicity and authenticity of each and every character apart from the plot.

Bhuvan Bam and his entire Taaza Khabar team deserved all the success and praise they are garnering. Period.
