Countdown OTT Release Date: Fans of crime dramas and high-stakes thrillers have something to look forward to this June. Prime Video is set to premiere its latest original series on June 25, 2025. The show stars Jensen Ackles, known for his roles in Supernatural and The Boys, alongside Jessica Camacho and Eric Dane.
The 13-episode series kicks off with a three-episode release, followed by weekly episodes leading up to the season finale on September 3.
What is Countdown all about?
Countdown centres on LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Ackles), who is drawn into a covert task force after a Homeland Security officer is murdered in broad daylight. This elite team comprises agents from various law enforcement agencies, including the DEA, NSA, Secret Service, and local police. Their mission: to uncover the truth behind the killing, which soon reveals a far-reaching conspiracy threatening millions.
Countdown¡¯s cast and crew
Jessica Camacho plays DEA Special Agent Amber Oliveras, a seasoned undercover operative with 14 years of experience. Eric Dane takes on the role of Nathan Blythe, the Special Agent in Charge, who assembles the task force. The ensemble cast also includes Violett Beane as FBI recruit Evan Shepherd, Uli Latukefu as LAPD's Lucas Finau, and Elliot Knight as FBI agent Keyonte Bell.

The series is created by Derek Haas, known for his work on the One Chicago franchise. Filming took place in Los Angeles, with production wrapping up in March 2025. Ackles, familiar with action-packed roles, underwent firearms training to prepare for his character, ensuring authenticity in the portrayal of law enforcement procedures.
