Emakku Thozhil Romance OTT Release Date: Ashok Selvan and Avantika Mishra recently headlined this Tamil film which is now ready for its digital premiere. Written and directed by Balaji Kesavan, the movie opened in theatres on 22nd November 2024 to a positive reception. Emakku Thozhil Romance will be streaming on Aha Tamil from February 14, 2025 - a Valentine¡¯s treat for cinephiles. Overseas audiences can watch the film a little early from January 31st on Simply South.

Other than Ashok and Avantika, Emakku Thozhil Romance also stars Urvashi, Azhagam Perumal, M. S. Bhaskar, Bagavathi Perumal, Badava Gopi, Vijay Varadaraj, Arjunan, Shankara Narayanan, Madhumila and Sonia among others. Produced by M. Thirumalai under the banner of Friends Festival Films, this romantic comedy is a Nivas K. Prasanna musical cinematographed by Ganesh Chandra and edited by I. Jerome Alen.
Emakku Thozhil Romance¡¯s plot summary
The plot revolves around Umashankar (Ashok), an associate director, who falls for Leona (Avantika), a nurse, but misunderstandings arise when a hospital mix-up makes her think he's been unfaithful. Sharanya, his friend, tries to help clear things up by having actor Vetri impersonate Prashanth, the father of her unplanned pregnancy.
This causes more confusion, especially at a family wedding, but Leona eventually learns the truth. Meanwhile, Umashankar¡¯s family mistakenly believes he's in love with another nurse, Kavya, leading to a plot to marry them. In the end, Leona realizes her love for Umashankar, and they eventually reconcile.
Emakku Thozhil Romance¡¯s review
The Times of India rated this film 2.5 out of 5 and a part of their review read, ¡°The film's plot has immense opportunities to make it into a full-fledged popcorn entertainer, but the shallow screenplay doesn't do justice to the bevvy of talented actors in the movie. The filmmaker makes the same old wine in a new bottle here, but without developing situations that have immense potential to bring the roof down. The conflicts are stretched out beyond a point, leaving the tension diluted.¡±
