¡®Friend Walked In On Her Bai Having Sex¡¯, Konkona Sen On What Inspired Her Lust Stories 2 Tale

Konkona Sen Sharma donned the director's hat for segment "The Mirror" in the recently released Netflix anthology movie "Lust Stories 2." Everyone on the internet concurs that her segment's narrative is the movie's strongest point.

Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash both played key roles in the film.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Konkona shared the idea behind and the artistic process of her story. "I was thinking about stories and whether I could come up with anything worthwhile. I wanted to create something interesting around lust. So I was thinking from a mom's angle, from the looking angle, or a being watched angle. Then I came across a friend at a dinner party who told me how she'd walked in on her bai having sex in her house. And I knew that was something I wanted to explore further because there are a lot of things happening there," the actor said.

"I wasn't trying to create sexual arousal in my audience. That they can do on their own if they want. I felt that to give Seema (Amruta) the respect and the dignity, I only entered the room when she allowed it, so to speak," she added.

Talking about the same, she told Film companion, ¡°Very often, the bodies that are allowed to feel the sexual/romantic pleasure are very limited because usually they have to be thin, fair, rich and young ¨C that was the fourth factor. So usually only those kinds of bodies are allowed to desire and also there have been certain limitations in terms of how people from different economic backgrounds are portrayed.¡±
